The salvation army is interesting… ‘cause they’ve almost entirely managed to make everyone forget that they are a church, not a charity.
Would secular institutions be less welcoming if they actually realized they were allowing a church to collect donations on its grounds? why not other churches then?
Why do they say that they oppose mistreatment of LGBT persons, and yet they do nothing in response to all the LGBT persons mistreated or left to die in the cold because Salvation Army shelters refused to help them or take them in simply because they were LGBT. Why.
Don’t try to logic their bigotry…
your head might explode trying to resolve the contradictions
A program led by Reverend Mark Kiyimba, from the Unitarian Universalist Church of Uganda. Any money you donate goes to Ugandans to improve Uganda, not white saviors or colonialists. This project is to create a queer space that provides internet connections, giving a voice to marginalized people. More information can be found at the link.
The Reverend is a leader in the LGBT movement in Uganda, and currently runs a school and orphanage near Masaka. If you can’t give, please boost at least. This is an expensive project and he has told me that it will take much effort. Thank you.
